A Little Bit of Soap

A Little Bit of Soap was written by Bert Berns (aka Bert Russell) and first gained popularity in the United States when released by The Jarmels, who reached #12 with the hit in September 1961.  On his new album, Chickawawa, Charles Champagne breathes new life into the classic.

Bert Berns’ contributions to 1960s popular music left a legacy as a pioneer of rock and soul during the era.  Despite his early death at the age of 38, Berns penned such popular tunes as Here Comes the Night, Hang on Sloopy, Twist and Shout, and Piece of My Heart.

Take a sneak peek at the forthcoming album with this exclusive streaming track and then check out The Jarmels’ original version.
